About Muffett Investments

Independent thinking for uncertain markets.

Research for investors who want to understand not only what is happening in markets, but why—and what may happen next.

I founded Muffett Investments to bring together the disciplines that shape serious investment decisions: company fundamentals, macroeconomics, geopolitics, market structure and investor psychology.

Markets rarely move for one reason. A company can report excellent results and still fall. An apparently cheap stock can remain cheap for years. A change in interest rates, government policy, capital flows or geopolitics can transform the outlook for an entire industry.

Good investing therefore requires more than reading financial statements or following price momentum in isolation. It requires seeing how the pieces connect. That is the purpose of Muffett Investments: to identify the forces that matter, separate durable trends from market noise, and translate that analysis into clear, investable conclusions.

“The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it.”

How I approach markets

My approach begins with evidence rather than consensus. I am interested in where the prevailing narrative may be incomplete, where expectations have become disconnected from reality, and where several independent strands of evidence point towards the same conclusion.

01

Structural change

The economic, technological, demographic and geopolitical forces reshaping long-term demand.

02

Business quality

Competitive advantage, management execution, balance-sheet strength and the ability to compound cash flows.

03

Valuation and expectations

What the market already assumes—and whether the potential return adequately compensates for the risk.

04

Market behaviour

Relative strength, liquidity, positioning and price structure: evidence of when the market is recognising the thesis.

This framework allows me to move between long-term investment research and shorter-term market analysis without confusing the two. Fundamentals help determine what may be worth owning. Macro conditions explain the environment. Market structure helps identify when the opportunity may be emerging—and when the thesis needs to be reconsidered.

Market commentary

Interpretation of price action, sector leadership and changing market regimes.

Model portfolios

Transparent, dated expressions of the process—creating a public record that can be judged over time.

Independent by design

Muffett Investments is not built around a constant stream of stock tips or repetitions of the market’s most popular narratives. The aim is to develop a smaller number of differentiated, well-supported ideas—and explain the reasoning clearly enough for readers to challenge the assumptions and reach their own conclusions.

Publishing creates discipline. A dated thesis cannot be quietly rewritten after the event. Model portfolios and documented market calls make the process visible, allowing both successful decisions and mistakes to become part of the evidence.

I do not expect every conclusion to be right. Markets are complex and uncertainty cannot be eliminated. The objective is to think probabilistically, manage risk and change course when the evidence changes—not defend a view simply because it was once expressed with conviction.

The person behind the research

I am the founder and Chief Market Strategist of Muffett Investments. My professional background is Anaesthesiology, which has trained me to assess evidence carefully, question assumptions and make decisions under uncertainty—habits that now form the foundation of my investment process.

My particular interest lies at the intersection of company-specific research and the larger forces surrounding it: not only a company’s earnings, assets and competitive position, but also the technological shifts, capital cycles, policy decisions and geopolitical pressures that may determine its future.
